Dyslexia / Psychoeducational Testing for Children & Adults

What is Psychoeducational Testing?

Psychoeducational testing is a comprehensive evaluation that assesses an individual's cognitive abilities, academic skills, and emotional/social/behavioral functioning. This type of testing is particularly useful in identifying the cause of learning difficulties including Dyslexia, ADHD, Dyscalculia, Dysgraphia, etc. The goal of psychoeducational testing is to better understand the strengths and challenges of an individual's learning process, so that the right support strategies can be implemented.

Sometimes Psychoeducational evaluations are referred to as Independent Educational Evaluations (IEE). This refers to getting a Psychoeducational evaluation outside of the school system. There are times when children, and their families, need a second opinion on the nature of learning difficulties when they disagree with school results. This is extremely important for ensuring accurate diagnoses are identified and correct accommodations and services are set up.
